Best of Chubby Fairy’s Face Painting and Body Art 2014

What?! It’s the last day of January (already?!). Where did all the time go? I planned to get this post published much earlier this year but work and baby prep kept me busy and Baby Manny came earlier than I expected … so this post got stuck in the draft folder for a while.

Chubby Fairy, my little face painting and kids art and craft business became a registered business in 2014. Prior to that, I was face painting on freelance basis for event companies. It was a huge step of faith to bring my passion to another level. It wasn’t a breeze setting up a small business with 3 kids in tow. The later part of the year was most challenging for me due to my pregnancy and hectic part-time/freelance work commitments (Other than running Chubby Fairy, I am also a Digital Marketer by profession). I have God, my hubs and many people to thank (you know who you are, my friends and clients), without your support and encouragement, Chubby Fairy wouldn’t have come this far. Thanks to you, I had the privilege to attend many parties, eat many many cakes, sing birthday songs in many fashions, paint many happy faces and receive many hugs.

I want to specially thank a bunch of fellow mummy bloggers here. I am very blessed by their friendship and cannot feel more honoured to be given opportunities to paint at their children’s birthday parties. These mummies are not only good at blogging, they are great party planners too. Check out their posts below.

Chubby Fairy may be a tiny business, but I take great pride in providing quality service to my clients. It isn’t just a mean to bring home the dough; It is also a an avenue for me to express my creativity and put my craft into action to bring joy to others. Since this post is about the best face painting and body art Chubby Fairy has produced in the past year, I shall not lo shuo much and let the photos do most of the talking. Here’s relishing the beautiful moments in 2014 which I’ve lived through Chubby Fairy’s Face Painting. Every painting is a memory of a cherished moment. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do 🙂

Perhaps the most popular character of the year:

Yes, Elsa.

And, I have more than a version of it.
This is the quick version.
This is the quick version. I usually paint this version at parties to speed up the waiting time.

There was an Elsa/Frozen every other weekend, even my younger girl had a Frozen theme party last year. I’ve got requests to paint Elsa or Anna or Olaf at almost every gig I attended, even hen it wasn’t a frozen theme party!
A Happy Snowman... is a happy request! I love love love painting olaf as it is not only fun to paint, it is also a quick and easy request to fulfill.

Apart from character painting, snowflake face painting was a big hit with little girls too.

Yet, Disney’s influence goes beyond just Frozen. Here are some of the many Disney characters I’ve painted in 2014. See any of your favourites?

Not a big fan of Disney characters? Not an issue, I’ve also painted movie characters, cartoon characters, animals, insects, imaginary characters – almost anything under the sun. I don’t usually reject any requests unless there is a time constraint.

This design was pitched to the event organiser for RIO2 movie launch.

And, I got to paint at the event held at golden village cinema last year. Of course, I painted many other designs at the event too.

This piece was done on the last gig of 2014. It was the first time I received a minion-transformers fusion request. Thanks to this child’s boundless imagination, i’ve the priviledge to meet and paint a minion-transformers at the close of the year.

Looks like lots of fun for the kids? You bet! But face painting and body art aren’t just for kids. Check out how some of my adult clients roll with paint and glow!

Cherry Blossom Design. This is not my design. I painted it off my client's phone screen, hence can't credit the original artist here.

Super love this couple piece. This lovely pair newly-wed had each other painted on their arms as a symbol of their love.

Leopard Print Face Painting. Chic anot? Yes, I painted my own face. 🙂

My biggest gain of the year 2014 – my littlest was conceived last year. Here’s 2 baby bump painting I did while I was pregnant with Baby Emmanuel.

31 October 2014 I Wrapped my gift from above with a blue bow today. Can’t wait to “unwrap” in Jan! This is my first attempt painting my own belly. It’s tougher than painting my own face. I hope to paint it at least 1 more time before I deliver my little boy

"

But, I only managed to paint my bump one other time…

10 November 2014 | 1 day to 30 weeks pregnant. Painted a heart fashioned by a pair of mother and child birds. I have been toying with the idea to #paint down some of my hopes for this new life in my bump. First on my list, I wish him love – love that is unconditioned and everlasting. Of cos I can only provide maternal love (so I painted that down), but my hope goes beyond this. I hope he will be soaked in God’s love and have the favour of people around him.

And, it’s a wrap! – The best of a full year of face painting and body art all consolidated in a single post.

I hope you enjoyed these moments as much I did. Thank you once again for your support! Chubby Fairy looks forward to painting more lovely memories in 2015 and beyond.
