Emmanuel’s First Birthday

My littlest turned one in January. I know this post is really late. But better late then never – This is one post that I mustn’t leave out from the blog. No words can adaquately describe the joy of watching the children grow, and major milestones like birthdays (and especially the big ONE) always get me feeling emotional; a mix of joy, gratitude and a sense of urgency – one year flashed by just like that.

I am not a big fan of huge birthday parties. In fact, I wanted a small celebration with a few loved ones. But the dad wanted something decent, by that he meant a proper party of sort. So we compromised. A party, we had, with all the works but a smaller guest list.

Party Prep
The daddy did most of the planning and ordering while I got to do the more fun stuff – the decors and the dessert table. Because the party is a family thing, we got the everyone involved.

The daddy decided on the party theme- “Peanuts”. No, we aren’t huge fans of Snoopy; we chose it because that is Manny’s pet name since he was in my womb.

The theme was brought across from family tee, to decor and the items on the dessert table.

It was a Friday night and we did not have many guests. To everyone who made the extra effort to attend Manny’s party – Thank you, thank you very much for sharing our joy. We regret not having photos of everyone who came. Please know that we appreciate you none the less.

And that was how we celebrated our last baby’s first birthday. Welcome to toddlerhood, Manny! It has been been amazing so far.
