Hip hip horray! It’s the Easter holidays! Long weekend for us and since I spent most of the week in office, I am bend on making this short break count.
It has been a challenge finding activities that are suitable for all 4 children (spanning from age 9 to 1) and I am just glad that this morning’s finger and ice-cream stick painting session worked out fine.
It was a fun activity for all four from preparation of paint to painting. To make the paint safe for our littlest, only edible materials were used in the making. I found the recipe from Martha Stewart’s website here: http://www.marthastewart.com/271805/finger-paints
Here’s the process in pictures:
Mix the ingredients together and heat it over low fire while constantly stiring the mixture.
Once the paste has thicken (don’t wait till it boils),
pour out into smaller portions.
Add food dye of your choice. You can also mix the dyes together to create the colour you desire.
Get the kids to stir in the colour.
Now, you are ready to paint!
It’s fun for bigger kids too.
Do you have a finger painting project or recipe to share too? Can’t wait to see yours!
