[Sponsored Story] My kids have turned my life up-side down and around!

I am not (and have never been) a very organised person. Having 3 kids and a demanding full-time job outside home, very much turned my already not-quite-organised world, upside down. Think messy home, untidy work desk, meeting schedules in between kids’ time table, vaccination appointments and enrichment classes… Yup, you got it.

It didn’t take me long into motherhood to know that having children is a full-time job. Whether you are a SAMH, WAHM or FTWM (or whatever other types of mom), a Mom is a Mom, period. I am a mom who happens to work outside home and like any other moms out there, it isn’t easy.

Walking into my office every morning is very much like an out-of-body experience. Imagine, going to work with your head intact and your heart very much at home running around after the kids. In between 9 to 6, I drank coffee, run in and out of meeting rooms, make notes, read and wrote many emails. Had quick lunches, drank coffee and sped up my steps back to office. Drank more coffee and worked doubly hard, so as to make it home in time to spend the very precious few hours I have with the children before bedtime.

As much as I try to keep the stress and problems I face at work away from home, it’s not as easy as it seems and sometimes, it shows.

I must have been frowning much lately, like this:

My little boy must have noticed and decided to see things differently. Like this:
“Cheer up mama!
By the way, I poo-ed. Please change my pampers.”

Have you tried looking at a sad face upside down? Try it! It actually looks kinda happy! My kids have taught me to smile in the face of adversity. Many times, they taught me to see things from a new perspective and gave me strength to see beyond my challenges. Sometimes, dealing with adversity is like playing Peep-a-boo – Now you see it coming, then you don’t. Laugh or cry the problem exist, so why not smile and work on it? 🙂
